The Bootblack Brigade is the brainchild of Brandon, Mid-Atlantic Community Bootblack 2009 and Blast, California Community Bootblack 2009. From across the country, on their way to compete against one another at International Community Bootblack 2009, they formed a friendship that only bootblacks truly understand.
In conversation, they found that they both loved the framework that the various “boys of Leather” organizations provided for camaraderie and service within the leather community. They wanted a more formal and more visible organization for bootblacks to belong to. Borrowing from the tradition of the “Red Jacket Brigade,” they decided to call their newly formed group the Bootblack Brigade and will officially announce the new group and unveil their club colors at ICBB 2009.
Brandon and Blast enlisted the help of other bootblacks around the country to serve as regional representatives of the new organization. The representatives assist in helping new members complete their paperwork, pledge tasks, and maintain ongoing supervision of each member’s fulfillment of club responsibilities.
